I was a San Francisco firefighter and I sustain many injuries during the course of my career. At age 60, my strength had greatly diminished and the doctors recommended that I have both knees and one hip replaced. I wanted to get strong prior to the surgeries so that my recovery would be easier. I started training with Shyla and to my surprise, her diligent coaching has made me feel better than all of the physical therapy, nerve blocks and Cortisone injection that Ive received in the past. She customized workouts that addressed each of my injuries. Since I started working with her I have regained strength, flexibility and joint stability. My quality of life is greatly improved, and I have cancelled my surgeries.

Im 60 yo and have some health issues. I lost significant amount of my muscles during my illness and could hardly lift a frying pan. I have been looking for a professional fitness trainer for about 6 months. I checked every gym and fitness studio in the area. I knew exactly what Im looking for and finally I found Shyla LaRue. Shyla is extremely professional, honest, down to earth person! She knows how you feel and what you able to achieve today at the moment youre entering the gym and before you know how you exactly feel. Her intuition, the knowledge and confidence amaze me all the time. I started to see the results of our training after 2 weeks. And after nearly 6 months with Shyla I can do things that I couldnt think about for a couple of years. I dont need any help to lift heavy things like dog food, soil mix bags or 5 gallons bottles of water. I even can lift my 63 lb dog! I became stronger than I was in my 40th. I recommend to all seniors to start with weightlifting. It will change your life for good and make you much more independent in your daily life.
